![]() In July 2012, Tim suffered a stroke in hisLos Angeles home. The disease severely affected his speech and mobility and has since been confined to a wheelchair. To the surprise of many, his staff managed to keep news of his stroke from the paparazzi for a staggering 10 months. It’s no surprise that Tim Curry’s sexuality has been a source of mystery. He rarely gives interviews about his personal life, has never been married and has no children. However, it will be inappropriate to call him gay as he has never come out to reveal his sexual orientation. Tim Curry also has a successful recording career, he released his first album Lies meinelippen in 1978, the next year he dropped his second album Fearless with tracks like Paradise Garage charting really well. His third album Simplicity was released in 1981.Ĭurry has starred in over 30 animated series and films throughout his career. They include The Little Mermaid, The Greatest Adventure: Stories from the Bible and Captain Planet and the Planeteers. Curry has appeared in films such as The Hunt for Red October, Congo, Addams Family Reunion and the 1999 classic Pirates of the Plains. This would become the role for which he would be most remembered. In 1975 he appeared in a reprized film version.įollowing the success of The Rocky Horror Show, he appeared in the 1978 horror film The Scream Two years later he played Robert Graves in the horror film The Scream. His first notable work was a theatrical musical entitled Haar Production. In 1970 Tim joined the Royal Shakespeare Company for some productions. His big break came in 1973 at the Royal Court Theater where he received the Dr. Frank-N-Furter played The Rocky Horror Show. Tim Curry was born in the suburb of Grappenhall in Cheshire, North West England on Ap– to James and Patricia Curry. His father died when he was 12 years old. He attended Lymm High School before transferring to Kingswood School.
